What is Work Place Stress? Stress is the physical, mental, or emotional response of our body to any occurrence in our
surroundings that we are not okay with. Work Place Stress is something beyond:

AND, Work Place stress refers to :
“The response people have to unbearable and excessive pressures and demands at work which elicit a particular state of uneasiness”.
It is important than ever to understand now that Work Place Stress Exists and it is not an
ailment/illness but just a state which can progress to physical and mental illnesses if left unattended.
YOU ARE FEELING IRRITATED WITH YOUR JOB, YOU ALWAYS FEEL DRAINED AFTER WORK, YOU ARE NOT PARTICULARLY ENJOYING YOUR WORKPLACE, seek help immediately Because that what workplace
stress looks like.

Work Place Stress is due to Work Place Stressors:

It is a state of mind, so it can be triggered by many diverse causes depending upon the
personality one has. In today’s economic state of the world and over-population problems, one feels
even bestowed, having a job. Thinking about Job-related problems and their impact on one’s own self
comes, when it reaches out of hand. Some of the common reasons for Workplace Stress include:

• Job Insecurity.
• Conflicts b/w co-workers or with Bosses.
• Un-rewarding Administration.
• Blame Culture.
• Inefficient support system.
• Long Working Hours.
• Excessive Workload.
• Non-cooperative Office Environment.
• Harassment/Bullying.
• Tight Deadlines.
• Poor Management.

What are the Signs & Symptoms of Work Place Stress?

Workplace Stress never comes the same to every person. One may feel IRRITATED and the other
AGITATED, while the third person may report FEELING LOW. Plus You are not always able to identify it,
even if you, yourself are the ones suffering from it. ALSO, its symptoms progress very fast, starting from
emotional and mental exhaustion to physical manifestations and affecting the general well-being of a
person.
It has many and many more symptoms than you can think of. Common ones are:

Emotional & Mental S/S:

Tiredness During the day with no obvious reasons.
• Low Mood and Energy.
• Feeling too much dependent over Caffeine.
• Low Productivity.
• Feeling Absent-minded.
• Feeling Useless/Unsuccessful.
• Being Cynical And Over-Criticizing.
• Feeling Isolated.

Physical S/S:

Sleep Disorders/Insomnia.
• Backaches.
• Headaches.
• Fatigue.
• Weight loss/Gain.
• Shortness Of Breath.
• Higher Sickness Rates.
• Regular/Lingering Body Pains.
• More prone to heart diseases.
• Increased Incidence Of Metabolic syndrome.
